Canada Is Calling Students β And the Door Is Open Wider Than You Think
This is a good season to be an international student with Canadian dreams. Scholarships for 2027 have opened, January 2027 intakes are accepting applications right now, and several rules have quietly moved in students’ favour β from simpler work permits to faster processing for graduate students. Inside this issue: where the opportunities are, what the new rules mean for you, and one immigration program explained step by step β how YOU yourself can come to Canada.
Kamal’s Desk
Greetings of the Day,
Every week I meet families who ask me the same question: ‘Is Canada still welcoming students?’ My answer this week is simple β yes, and for prepared students, the path has rarely been clearer. In this issue we put students first β because you are our most engaged readers. You will find scholarships with real opportunities

THIS WEEK’S SPECIAL: SKILLED TRADES
Canada needs skilled tradespeople β and it shows in the numbers. On October 1, IRCC invited 3,500 trades workers in a single Express Entry draw (CRS 476), the second trades-only draw of 2026.
In-demand NOCs this week: 72200 (Electricians), 72300 (Plumbers), 72106 (Welders), 72310 (Carpenters).

β HOW TO COME TO CANADA!!
Program Spotlight: Federal Skilled Trades (via Express Entry)
If your NOC is on this week’s in-demand list, this program is your pathway. The Federal Skilled Trades Program is one of three programs run through Express Entry, designed specifically for skilled tradespeople. In simple terms: you create an Express Entry profile, receive a CRS score based on age, education, language and work experience, and IRCC holds regular trades-category draws inviting the highest-scoring candidates to apply for permanent residence. Most applications are processed within 6-7 months of invitation. Who can apply: skilled tradespeople with a valid job offer or certificate of qualification, language test results, and qualifying work experience in an eligible trade. This week’s match: NOCs 72200, 72300, 72106, 72310 β the same trades invited in the Oct 1 draw.
