FROM THE DESK OF KAMAL
|
Greetings, and welcome to Issue #4 of Your Bridge to Canada.
Four invitation rounds in sixteen days — 8,252 new invitations — and the largest Express Entry points change in years now just 14 days away.
The French advantage: 435 versus 519
This week, Canada invited 5,000 French-speaking candidates at a CRS cut-off of just 435 — while Canadian Experience Class candidates needed 519. That 84-point gap tells you how Canada is choosing in 2026: French-language draws have now issued 55,500 invitations this year, nearly 39% of every Express Entry invitation (reported, synced with IRCC data).
And the clock is ticking: on November 3, the new high-wage points take effect — up to 100 CRS points for a qualifying job offer and up to 70 bonus points for Canadian work experience, with no LMIA required (IRCC). If your occupation is on the list, your score could move before the month ends.
Why act now? IRCC advises candidates who may qualify to review and update their profiles before November 3. Preparation is everything — the candidates who are ready when the points land are the ones who get invited.
Your next step: Know exactly where you stand before November 3. Get your profile assessed by a licensed professional. This is general information only; each profile must be assessed on its own facts.

4 • BUSINESS — CSBSC
The Start-Up Visa stays paused — provinces lead the way

5 • CANADIAN LIFE
Toronto ran together this Sunday!
TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon — start line, Yonge Street • Photo: Marathon Tours USA
More than 30,000 runners and 150,000 cheering spectators turned the city’s streets into one big celebration at the TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon — from Yonge Street along the sparkling waterfront. Kenya’s Leonard Langat defended his title (2:06:51) and Leah Jeruto stormed to the women’s crown (2:21:19), while Vancouver’s Andrew Davies won the Canadian title in his very first marathon. And the sweetest moment? Seventy-year-old Jennifer MacDonell set a new world record — because in Canada, dreams don’t retire. (reported)
Diwali lights up Canada — November 8. The festival of lights falls on Sunday, November 8, with five days of celebration from November 6 to 10. Brampton and the GTA host some of the country’s largest public festivities — fireworks, music, and streets glowing with diyas. (reported)
October’s golden finale. The red maples have peaked, but autumn is not done: Ontario’s tamaracks — the province’s only colour-changing conifer — are turning brilliant gold around wetlands and trails, and southern Ontario still holds colour into late October. (reported)
A country that looks after its people. The Canada Child Benefit supports families with young children every month. Old Age Security plus income-tested supplements support seniors. Dedicated benefits stand behind Canadians with disabilities. This is the safety net your family would join — one more quiet reason Canada feels like home.

Greetings! What a week — 30,000 runners filled Toronto’s streets on Sunday, diyas will glow across Brampton on Diwali, November 8, and the biggest Express Entry points change in years is just 14 days away. My job is simple — I gather the week’s most useful news, mark every source clearly, and put it in your hands in five minutes. If this issue helped you, forward it to one friend who dreams of Canada. That’s how bridges get built — one person at a time.
